One of ECSS’s key objectives is the development of Early Career Researchers and the fostering of state-of-the-art research. For this reason, ECSS established the ECSS Young Investigators Award (ECSS YIA).

Since the inauguration of ECSS in Nice, France, in 1995, the ECSS YIA has become an integral part of the College.

Young researchers have the opportunity to enter this prestigious competition for scientific excellence, where their outstanding work can be presented at the ECSS Annual Congress. A jury consisting of the ECSS Scientific Board and ECSS Scientific Committee grants the awards for the top ten oral and top four conventional print poster presentations.

Many former ECSS YIA winners continue to stay actively involved in the ECSS, supporting and contributing to the ECSS’s Boards and Committees. The award typically marked a milestone in their scientific career.

Further information about ECSS’s awards can be found here and the application requirements can be found here.
