This session provides insights into how sport science is integrated and applied in performance sport and across the respective sport federations from the perspective of an embedded scientist. Using a real-world project example, participants gain an understanding of how research is translated into practical applications within elite sport environments. The session also emphasises the collaboration between researchers, practitioner, and sport organisations and highlights funding and functional mechanisms of National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and how sport science is supported within national sport systems.

The aim is to place applied science at the center of performance development and stimulate exchange between science and practice.

The session is aimed at everyone interested in applied sport science in performance sport and features practical insights directly from applied practice.
